Sadie Hawkins dances have been a longtime tradition among students everywhere.
TWIRP week (The Woman Is Required to Pay) will begin Sunday, Sept. 7, with the Campus Activities Board’s (CAB) movie night. They will be showing “Iron Man.” Tickets cost $3 per couple and $2 per single. The movie will be showing in the Walker Conference Center as opposed to the previous years in the Tiger Den. The usual movie refreshments will be available, candy, popcorn and drinks, for 50 cents.
“Get ready for a great night,” said CAB president, Molly Throgmorton. “Who can resist an opportunity to go out on a date with your friends or special someone?”
Monday, Sept. 8, will be the Barn Bash, hosted by Campus Ministries. The event will be held at Bridges Farm in Arkadelphia. Tickets will be sold for $8 per person and a BBQ dinner will be provided.
“Get your boots ready,” said Campus Ministries Director, James Taylor. “There’s not much better than some good BBQ and square dancing.
Tri Chi’s ‘80s Night will be Tuesday, Sept. 9. The event will be held at 8 p.m. in the Tiger Den. Tickets are $5 for couples and $3 for singles.
Wednesday, Sep. 10, will be the EEE’s ‘50s Night in the Tiger Den. It starts at 8 p.m. and costs $5 for couples and $3 for singles.
Thursday will be Chi Delta’s Harvest Moon. The semi-formal will be from 7-11 p.m. at the club house off of Country Club.
Chi Rho Phi’s Luau will be held Friday, Sept. 12, at the gazebo. Tickets are $5 for couples and $3 for singles. In the event of rain, the event will be moved to the Tiger Den.
Last of the week’s events will be Pi Kappa Zeta’s Pre-K Play Day on Saturday, Sept. 13. The event will also be in the Tiger Den. Costs for this event are still pending.
