Tiger Tunes 2015 concluded on Saturday night with the women of Tri Chi taking first place as “MaTChes.” In second place were the men of Eta Alpha Omega as “Dads,” and the men of Kappa Chi took third place with their “Safari” theme.
Additionally, junior Abby Root, who directed the Campus Activities “Cats” show won the Spirit of Tunes award in memory of Shelby Seabaugh, the Ouachita student who passed away unexpectedly in the spring of 2014 during her junior year. Root, who is from Arkadelphia and whose parents Drs. Jeff and Deborah Root are both professors at Ouachita, has attended Tiger Tunes every year since she was six-months-old, a total of 21 shows in all.
Also in the shows were the women of EEE as “CoffEEE Shop,” the women of Chi Rho Phi as “Spring Break,” the men and women of Sigma Alpha Sigma and Chi Delta as “Snails” and Campus Ministries as “Stone Age.”
Following the conclusion of the final show, many students and Tiger Tunes participants celebrated on the main lawn of campus with the men of Eta Alpha Omega during their “Muggin'” event. “Muggin,'” is a signature Eta Alpha Omega event hosted every year after the final Tunes show where students can come mingle, dance and celebrate the ending of Tiger Tunes and homecoming with a bottle of root beer.
If you weren’t able to make it to campus to see Tiger Tunes this year, Tunecast 2015, the live stream of the final Tiger Tunes show is still available online.
