September 8, 2010

ARKADELPHIA- Ouachita senior Alex Tonrey has been named Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

Tonrey led the Tigers (2-0) to a 3-1 victory over non-conference opponent Texas Wesleyan by leading a defense in allowing just a single goal and also assisting on the game-winning goal.

The Plano, Texas native earned his first-ever conference award, after also being one of three Tigers named to the 2010 All-GSC Preseason squad.
