Tigers fall to Arkansas Tech 30-12

RUSSELLVILLE—The Arkansas Tech Wonderboys defeated the Ouachita Tigers on Saturday 30-12.

The Tigers struggled to get anything going offensively scoring only one touchdown on a pass from quarterback Austin Warford to Ke’Vontae Pope with 4:24 remaining in the game.

Arkansas Tech scored twice in the fourth quarter—an interception returned for a nine-yard touchdown and a six-yard rush.

Ouachita finished with 258 yards and just 71 of those coming on the ground. Marks led the team in rushes with 12 for 40 yards. Warford finished 17 of 36 for 187 yards, 1 TD. He threw two interceptions.

Evian Hill caught seven passes for 62 yards and Ke’Vontae Pope caught three for 17 yards and a score.

The Tigers finished with 10 penalties for 92 yards. On defense, the Tigers gave up 374 rushing yards to Arkansas Tech.

Cole Antley scored the only points of the first half for the Tigers on a field goal of 20 yards. The field goal was set up by the only play for the Tigers over 20 yards in the first half.

Ouachita gained just 158 yards of offense in the first half. 118 came through the air. The Tiger offense went 2-8 on third-down attempts.

Warford completed 8 of 16 passes for 118 yards in the first half. Marks rushed for just 36 yards on 10 carries.

The Tigers play Southern Arkansas next week in El Dorado in the Murphy Oil Classic. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
