- Dread. The countdown has arrived. The final weeks of school and Finals Week is creeping upon us. This stage consists of stressfully watching Netflix and thinking about how to bring your neglected classes’ grades up.
- Procrastination. Even though you know the end is near you continue to wait until the last minute to get that large project finished or write the 10 page paper you were assigned in January.
- Fear. You realize that you are halfway in your countdown and have accomplished nothing. This stage still includes stressfully binging Netflix, but you actually start do try and complete assignments early/on time.
- Acceptance. You are two-ish weeks away from finals and have finally accepted that you can do this. You can make it to the last week and you can bring up your GPA because you are a superhero.
- Focus. This stage can be seen as one of the worst or one of the best. You spend the next week only in the library. You don’t remember the last time you saw your friends, took a shower or stood in the sunlight. But hey, your grades are looking good.
- Crashing. Finals week is almost to the end. You have completed most if not all of your tests, and you finally lay down in your bed. You haven’t seen it in weeks, but it will see you for the next 24-48 hours. Go ahead and send out a mass text or PSA tweet to let your friends know they should not try to contact you. Hibernation is imperative.
- Panic. You wake up from your slumber and realize you need a job and rush to contact your old summer job, hoping they have not yet filled your usual position.
- Excitement. With the summer job situation fixed you begin to think about every possible adventure this summer could hold. Concerts, beach trips. You now realize this summer is going to be AMAZING!
- Nostalgia. With possible summer plans you take a moment to realize you actually might miss school. You won’t see your friends 24/7 and you are potentially walking into more responsibilities with said summer job and if you are living at home with you parents you may or may not be able to sleep all day.
- Relaxation. Grades are in, finals are completed and all you have left are the final days before packing up and heading out. You sit back, relax and enjoy yourself because there is nothing you can change now.
- Celebration. Car packed and goodbyes said, you head down the road to your summer adventures. Whatever they may be. Go ahead and blare the tunes and celebrate. SUMMER 2016 HERE YOU COME!
