Ouachita runs past Northwestern 55-13

ARKADELPHIA—The Tigers scored the first 21 points of the game. They did not look back.

Kris Oliver scored on a five-yard run with under ten minutes remaining in the first quarter. The run capped off an 11-play, 80-yard drive. Ryan Perkins caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Austin Warford and Donelle Hoof added a touchdown on a two-yard run.

Quarterback Reid Miller of Northwestern scored twice in the first half on passes to Jarion Tudman for 75 yards and to Arte’ Miura Jr. for a four-yard score.

Kris Oliver scored his second touchdown of the game when he caught a pass from Austin Warford and glided in for another touchdown to give Ouachita a 28-13 halftime lead.

Oliver rushed for 122 yards on 17 carries in the first half. He also had one reception for 12 yards.

Warford went 10 of 13 in the first half for 126 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 38 yards.

In the second half, Ouachita scored three times, all on the ground. Hoof scored twice on runs of 17 and 12. Oliver added the third touchdown on a 59-yard breakaway sprint.

Cole Antley made two field goals in the second half—one from 22 and the other from 31.

Northwestern did not score in the second half.

Ouachita finished with 566 total yards with 356 coming off the ground game.

Oliver finished with 218 yards on 24 carries, averaging 9.1 yards-per-carry. Donelle Hoof had 12 carries for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns. Warford added 43 yards on nine carries.

Through the air, Warford completed 15 of 21 passes for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ka’Vontae Pope caught 4 passes for 69 yards. Oliver and Ryan Perkins each caught touchdown passes from Warford.

Out of ten kicks, Cole Antley recorded six touchbacks.

Jaalen Mitchell had six total tackles, including a sack. Jaylin Small also recorded five tackles. Alex Myres also had an interception for 57 yards.

Northwestern recorded just 61 yards rushing in the game. Miller finished 21-31 for 201 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Rangers recorded 291 total yards.

The Tigers play at home next week against the Harding Bisons. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
