The Intercollegiate Tennis Association recently released their regional and national rankings and the Ouachita Men’s Tennis program, under the leadership of head coach Craig Ward, fared well in the polls.
The team received a No. 1 ranking in the South Central region of the country, while placing a number of individuals among the top in the region as well. Marko Boskovic was ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the region, while Helge Knuth was ranked as the No. 12 player. The doubles team of Knuth and Marvin Muller was ranked No. 6 in the region, while Boskovic and his doubles partner, Kenny Brasil followed closely as the No. 7 team in the region.
Along with their regional success, the Tigers received recognition on the national level as well. The Tigers are currently the No. 11 ranked team in the nation, after being ranked as No. 22 in the last edition of the polls. Individually, Boskovic was ranked as the No. 25 singles player in the nation for Ouachita.
The Tigers are currently 7-4 this season as a team. They will continue their season later this week, when they travel to Pensacola, Florida for matches against Hawaii Pacific University, Valdosta State and Grand Canyon University on April 5, 6 and 7. The Tigers will return to Arkadelphia on April 14, when they host East Central University for their last regular season match before the Great American Conference Championships, which will take place at Ouachita on April 20 and 21.
