Ouachita Division of Music presents Sarah Casey and Jeremy Hall in a senior voice recital

Sarah Casey, a church music major, and Jeremy Hall, a choral music education major, both seniors from Batesville, Ark., will present their senior voice recital on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.

Casey, a recipient of the James Harrison Memorial Scholarship, is a member of the Ouachita Singers and Alpha Chi national college honor society. Hall, a recipient of the Rachel Fuller Memorial Scholarship, is a member of the Ouachita Singers and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia national fraternity for men in music.

Casey will perform arrangements of “Be Thou My Vision” by Edwin T. Childs, “Salve Regina” by Rhett Barnwell and “Of the Father’s Love Begotten” by Craig Courtney. She will then perform two selections by Handel, “Bel piacere” and “Ah! Mio cor,” followed by Robert Franz’ “In meinem Garten die Nelken,” Mendelssohn’s “I Will Sing of Thy Great Mercies,” Claude Debussy’s “Nuit d’etoiles” and Gabriel Fauré’s “En Priére.”

Hall will open his portion of the recital with Orlando Gibbons’ “The Silver Swan” followed by Getano Donizetti’s “Bella siccome un angelo.” He will then perform Franz Schubert’s “Im Abendroth,” Maurice Ravel’s “Cinq mélodies popularizes grecques,” Alice Parker’s arrangement of “He’s the Lily of the Valley” and Stephen Flaherty’s “Make Them Hear You.”

Casey will join Hall to close the recital with Jason Robert Brown’s “The New World.”

The recital is free and open to the public.
