Ouachita Career Services Office to host Graduate and Professional School Fair Sept. 21

September 18, 2011

Ouachita Baptist University’s Career Services Office will host a Graduate and Professional School Fair in Evans Student Center on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Many graduate schools from Arkansas as well as out-of-state institutions will participate in the event.

The fair is designed to provide interested students access to information about graduate and professional schools to help make the transition into graduate/professional school as seamless as possible. Participants are encouraged register upon arrival to the fair and to sign up for door prizes.

“I want to encourage all of our students, freshmen through seniors, to come to the fair and visit with the representatives,” said Mallory Moddelmog, OBU’s director of career services. “This is a great opportunity for students to learn about specific programs at a respective school, admission requirements, how to write an effective letter of interest, scholarship opportunities and many other important topics.”

In addition to the schools in attendance, a Kaplan Test Prep representative will be available to offerstudents advice on preparing for the GRE as well as other entrance exams. The Arkansas Department of Education’s Teacher Recruitment and Retention Program will be in attendance to provide students information regarding the non-traditional teacher licensure program. A full list of schools and programs that will be represented at the fair is available at www.obu.edu/career.
