ARKADELPHIA- It may be early in the season, but the Tigers are already finding a multitude of ways to win, as Ouachita swept Southeastern Oklahoma State, 1-0 in Game 1 and 4-3 in Game 2 at Rab Rodgers Field on Tuesday.
Ouachita (2-0), picked up a victory from senior Kolby Moore (1-0) who pitched four shutout innings, collecting six strikeouts. In Game 2, Ouachita collected three runs on an error from the Savage Storm (0-2) right fielder, after trailing 3-1 until the bottom of the fifth inning. After the error, the Tigers held on with a save from junior Ryan Westover in the final two innings. Junior starter Beau Martin gave the Tigers five innings of work on the mound, giving up two earned runs on six hits, while striking out four.
Green finished 1-for-1 in the second game, while sophomore teammate Duncan Collins recorded a 1-for-2 day at the plate, while junior Brett Mazmanian collected a single in two plate appearances.
On the game-changing play in Game 2, senior Sam McGill slammed a single to right field for Ouachita, as the Savage Storm fielder ran past the ball, and McGill and two other Tigers raced around the bases for a three-run fifth inning.
