ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Visual Arts has invited the Caddo River Art Guild to exhibit its work in the Hammons Gallery located in Mabee Fine Arts Center on Ouachita’s campus, from Nov. 23 to Dec. 17. A reception will be held in Hammons Gallery Dec. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. to offer viewers an opportunity to meet the artists.
The exhibit will display a variety of media by about 50 artists, including oil painting, water color painting, acrylic painting, metal sculptures, photography, raku pottery, paper tole and print making.
“The Caddo Art Guild was formed to promote local artist and art and get the public interested in original and one of a kind art,” said Rita Earls, Caddo River Art Guild board member. “I encourage people to come out to see that the art style is very different. Most pieces will be for sale, so you can buy unique and one of a kind art pieces.”
The Art Guild meets once a month with programs highlighting an artist or demonstration. “One of our main activities is to sponsor the Round About Artist studio tour,” Earls noted. “We are working on our forth art tour.”
