Harding University, 9-0, Wednesday afternoon at the Heflin Tennis Center.

The Tiger’s, who improved to 2-0 on the year, have yet to allow a loss in either doubles or singles play.

The No. 1 doubles team of Jean Charles Diame and Pierre Tafelski followed the lead of Kuhlmann and Heilshorn by dispatching of brothers Henrique and Marco Ruiz, 8-3 to give the Tigers a 2-0 points lead. Daniel Moser and Christian Ceparu closed out the doubles with an 8-3 win over Ivan Michelli and Helio Hashimoto.

With a 3-0 lead after the doubles OBU picked up where they left off in the singles. In singles, Ouachita won all of the matches in straight sets. Daime was the first Bear off the courts with a 6-0,6-0 win over Chris

Beach at the No. 3 spot. Tafelski followed by taking down Marco Ruiz 6-0, 6-0 at the second position. At the No. 4 position Kuhlmann, playing his first match as a Tiger, finished off Edwards 6-0, 6-0..

With the match well in hand Daniel Moser defeated Hashimoto 6-0,6-2 and Satoshi Goda gave the Tigers their final point winning 6-2, 6-2 against Michelli.

Ward added, “We jumped out to a convincing 3-0 lead in the doubles and carried it into the singles. I was especially happy for Toshi (Satoshi) Goda. Toshi was a medical red shirt last year due to a knee injury. He has worked very hard and came away with a good win today.”
