The Ouachita Lady Tigers (10-9) traveled to Pine Bluff, Arkansas on Tuesday for a couple of non-conference match-ups with Division I University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Lady Tigers posted an impressive 12 runs in the first game, but ended up falling by a score of 13-12, followed by a game in which Pine Bluff took a 6-2 victory over Ouachita.
In the first game, as previously mentioned, the Lady Tigers posted a solid 12 run performance, including a a four RBI game from Megan Askew. The Lady Tigers posted 13 hits in the game but eventually fell, when UAPB posted a four run seventh inning. Rayn House took the loss, throwing 6.2 innings and giving up all 13 runs. Pine Bluff’s winning run was scored on a walk-off single by CeCe Kolesar.
In the second game, Ouachita was only able to score two runs in a game that they recorded nine hits. Abbi Frakes took the mound for the Lady Tigers, throwing six innings and giving up all six of UAPB’s runs. Ouachita’s Alexis Johns and Brianne Baley both posted 2-of-3 performances, while Teresa Mursuli and Frakes were credited with the Lady Tigers’ RBI’s.
Ouachita returns to the diamond on Saturday, when they host Arkansas Tech for a weekend of conference action. They will play a doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m. on both days.
