Frakes Named GAC Softball Pitcher of the Week After 3-Win Weekend

April 26, 2013

After notching one of the greatest pitching weekends in recent memory of the Ouachita Lady Tiger softball program, Abbi Frakes has been named the Great American Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Frakes picked up three wins during a four game weekend series against Southern Arkansas. She pitched 20.2 innings, only giving up seven hits and not giving up any earned runs. During her second start of the weekend, Frakes was lights out, as she threw a complete 10 inning game, holding a perfect game through five and two-thirds innings.

Frakes recorded 24 strikeouts during the weekend while not allowing any walks, hitting any batters or throwing any wild pitches.

Frakes is the first, and the last, Lady Tiger to receive a GAC Pitcher or Player of the Week selection in 2013, as the regular season concluded this past weekend.
