CAB concert features Denison Witmer Nov. 10

October 27, 2009

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Ouachita Baptist University’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) is sponsoring a concert featuring Denison Witmer on Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Tiger Den. Tickets are $6, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Invisible Children.

“We are excited to be bringing in Denison Witmer,” said Tim Harrell, director of campus activities. “He is a singer/songwriter whose sound is very human, honest and peaceful with extremely thoughtful lyrics. It’s a little bit of a step outside of the typical pop that OBU brings to campus, but I think students are ready for something like that.”

During the concert CAB will be serving free coffee that was donated by the local business Asian Fu. The tables at the Tiger Den will be covered in paper for chalk doodling and in addition to seating at the tables, there will be room for concert-goers to bring a pillow, blanket or beanbag to sit on.

“At this point in the semester, a laid back evening with live music is good for the soul,” Harrell said.

“One dollar of every ticket goes to Invisible Children,” Harrell added, “an organization whose goal is to bring awareness to the unseen war in Uganda that uses child soldiers, often kidnapped and forced to fight in the war.”
