Online Signal hosts live webcast of upcoming “Battle of the Ravine”

February 19, 2009

The online version of Ouachita Baptist University’s student newspaper, The Signal, will host a live webcast of the Feb. 26 men’s and women’s basketball games between the Ouachita Tigers and the Henderson State University Reddies at www.obusignal.com. The women’s game begins at 6 p.m., and the men’s game begins at 8 p.m.

This “Battle of the Ravine” match-up against rival Henderson State will also be OBU’s senior recognition night, and the senior basketball players and their parents will be recognized at halftime of the games.

Pregame broadcast will begin at 5:45 p.m., and pregame and halftime interviews will be conducted by Rance Collins, a junior mass communications major from Hillsboro, Texas. Play-by-play analysis will be provided by Richard Atkinson, a junior mass communications and political science major from Arkadelphia.

Approximately 10 students in OBU’s television film production and online Signal departments will be producing the live webcast. This will be the first time OBU has produced a live webcast of a Tiger sporting event.

After the games air, a replay will be available at www.obusignal.com.
