OBU Division of Music presents Carrie Brown in junior piano recital

Carrie Brown, a junior piano performance major from Knoxville, Ark., will present her junior piano recital on Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.

Brown has been a first place winner in OBU’s annual Virginia Queen Piano competition. She also was recently named the Arkansas state winner in the piano category of the National Federation of Music Clubs Biennial Student/Collegiate Auditions. She will go on to compete at the divisional and national levels.

Brown will perform J.S. Bach’s “Italian Concerto, BWV 971: First Movement” and W.A. Mozart’s “Sonata in B-flat major, k.333: I. Allegro,” followed by Johannes Brahms’ “Rhapsody in b minor, Op. 79, No. 1” and Claude Debussy’s “Twelve Etudes: VI. Pour Les Huit Doigts.” She will conclude the recital with L.M. Gottschalk’s “The Banjo, Op. 15.”
