Forty Ouachita Baptist University students were recently selected for inclusion in the 2008 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
The students were chosen by OBU’s faculty, staff and senior class for Who’s Who based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
The following Ouachita students will be included in Who’s Who:
Tracey Beckett, 21, is a early childhood education major from Garland, Texas. A graduate of South Garland High School, Beckett has been a recipient of the Maude Wright Award, has been named to the President’s List and was named Ouachita’s 2005 Homecoming Queen. She has been an Eta Alpha Omega men’s social club sweetheart and a Freshmen Family Group leader. Beckett has worked in Ouachita’s development office and as missions intern; she has volunteered in the America Reads and Big Sister programs as well as with the Human Development Center in Arkadelphia. Beckett is a member of Alpha Chi national college honor society and Kappa Delta Pi honor society for education. Upon graduation from Ouachita in December 2009, Beckett plans to become an elementary school teacher.
JulieAnne Bowen, 22, is an English major from Benton, Ark. A graduate of Harmony Grove High School, Bowen has been the producer and ministry leader of Rough Draft drama team, a Tiger Serve Day team leader and a presenter at Ouachita’s Scholar’s Day and Sigma Tau Delta’s National Convention. She has been a member of Ouachita’s Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Tiger Blast, Sigma Tau Delta international English honor society and Alpha Chi national college honor society. Bowen has served as a Batesville First Baptist Church youth intern, a Sky Ranch Camps counselor, a Speer Writing Center consultant, a Community Outreach English teacher and a visiting English teacher in China. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Bowen plans on teaching English as a second language.
Danny Brown, 22, is a mass communications and speech communications double-major from Mesquite, Texas. A graduate of Horn High School, has been a member of the Welcome to Ouachita’s World Executive Team and Ouachita’s Photo Lab editor. He has served as an intern and life group leader at the Church at Rock Creek. Brown has been a production assistant and grip for Screensurge Studios, helping to produce documentary films in Ethiopia, Kenya, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, New Orleans and Austin, Texas. He has also been a director of Ouachita’s motion picture production class’s feature film. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Brown plans to pursue a career in the television and film industry as a camera operator.
Whitney Burger, 21, is a Biblical studies and Christian ministries double-major from Texarkana, Ark. A graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, she has been a member of EEE women’s social club, Panhellenic Council and the Pruet Sisterhood. Burger has served Ouachita’s Campus Ministries as ministry leader for both Publicity and Freshman Family Groups and has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day and Relay for Life. She has worked at Kanakuk Kamps, Heritage Baptist Church, Texarkana First Baptist Church and Arkadelphia First Baptist Church. Burger was on Ouachita’s 2008 Homecoming Court as 3rd runner-up to the queen. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Burger plans to pursue a career in women’s ministry.
Judah Burk, 21, is a mass communications major from Hurst, Texas. She has been the vice president of Ouachita’s chapter of Alpha Chi national college honor society, a Kappa Chi men’s social club little sis and the opinion editor of “The Signal,” Ouachita’s student newspaper. Burk has been Ouachita Scholar, a Welcome to Ouachita’s World leader and a Freshman Family Group leader. She has been named to the President’s List and is a member of Tri Chi women’s social club and Theta Alpha Phi national theatre honors fraternity. Burk enjoys languages, travel, photography, theatre and painting, and plans to graduate in May of 2009.
Sam Bushey, 22, is an accounting and business marketing double-major from Stuttgart, Ark. A graduate of Stuttgart High School, he has served on the Welcome to Ouachita’s World Executive Team and Tiger Serve Day Leadership Team and has been a Freshman Family Group ministry leader for Ouachita’s Campus Ministries. Bushey has also worked with Arkadelphia Fellowship Church’s children’s church. An intramural sports participant, Bushey is interested in not only sports, but also movies and photography. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Bushey plans to pursue a career in the accounting division of Windstream Communications in Little Rock.
Paige Cate, 21, is an early childhood education major from Alexander, Ark. A graduate of Bryant High School, she has served as director of special events for the Ouachita Student Foundation and has been a recipient of the Betty Oliver Grant Endowed Award. Cate has been a member of the Welcome to Ouachita’s World Executive Team and Kappa Delta Pi honor society for education. She has volunteered with Arkadelphia’s Human Development Center and has been a Tiger Serve Day team leader. Cate has worked with Little Rock’s Geyer Springs Baptist Church and Arkadelphia Fellowship Church’s children’s ministries and has worked in Ouachita’s registrar’s office and education lab. She was named to Ouachita’s 2008 Homecoming Court as 1st runner-up to the queen. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Cate plans to pursue a career in elementary education or children’s ministry.
Laura Cox, 21, is an English major from Hot Springs, Ark. A graduate of lakeside High School, she has been named a Governor’s Distinguished Scholar and has been a recipient of Ouachita’s English award. Cox is a member of EEE women’s social club, Sigma Tau Delta international English honor society, Theta Alpha Kappa national honor society for religious studies and theology and Alpha Chi national college honor society. She has been the assistant editor of “Scope” literary journal and has been named to the President’s List. A member of the women’s soccer team, Cox is a member of Lake Valley Community Church. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, she plans to teach English as a second language overseas.
Ashley Duvall, 21, is a Christian studies major from Arkadelphia, Ark. A graduate of Arkadelphia High School, she has been named to the Dean’s List and the President’s List. Duvall has served as Ouachita’s Campus Ministries ministry leader for prison ministry and pledge class chaplain for EEE women’s social club. A member of Arkadelphia Fellowship Church, she has received Ouachita’s sophomore ministerial award, the Transerve award for over 50 hours of community service and the Campus Ministries award for her work with prison ministry. Duvall has also volunteered with disaster relief teams, Tiger Serve Day, Beach Reach and the Promise House pen pal program. She has worked at Gymnastics Plus, The Hamburger Barn, TRIO Talent Search, T Bar M Camps and San Antonio Community Bible Church. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Duvall plans to pursue a career in school-based counseling.
Heather Ferguson, 21, is a biology and Spanish double-major from Hot Springs, Ark. A graduate of Central Arkansas Christian, she has been named to the Dean’s List and President’s List. Ferguson has also been a Homecoming Queen nominee and a Governor’s Distinguished Scholar. She has served as pledge class chaplain, club chaplain and sisterhood chair for Tri Chi women’s social club, secretary for Ouachita’s American Chemical Society, a Welcome to Ouachita’s World group leader and a member of Tri Beta biological honor society. Ferguson has volunteered with ElderServe, Transerve and Tiger Serve Day. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, she plans to pursue a career as a medical doctor.
M. Andrew Ford, 21, is a political science and business marketing double-major from Arkadelphia, Ark. A graduate of Arkadelphia High School, he has been a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the homecoming planning committee and has served as executive treasurer of Ouachita’s Student Senate, co-chair of fundraising and finance of the Ouachita Student Foundation and treasurer of Ouachita’s Young Democrats. He has been named to the Dean’s List and the President’s List and was awarded the Maddox Scholarship for social sciences. Ford has worked at the Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce and the Clark County Community Foundation and has held an internship with United States Senator Blanche Lincoln. He has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day and was a founding member of Project RELOAD, an organization that distributes retired school district computers to low-income students. Upon graduation from Ouachita in 2010, Ford plans to attend law school.
Jeff Garner, 21, is a Biblical studies major from Plano, Texas. A graduate of Plano Senior High School, he has been Ouachita’s sophomore class president, senior class president and student body president. A member of the Pruet Brotherhood, Garner has been active in the international club, the theatre program, the varsity football squad and Reaching Out to Multicultural Students. He has volunteered with the Big Brother program, Tiger Serve Day, Operation Christmas Child, the Alexander youth prison ministry and was involved in Ouachita Student Senate’s blood drive and community can drive. Garner has worked as a library assistant, intramural sports referee and resident assistant while at Ouachita. He has also worked with his church’s youth group and spring and summer missions teams. He plans to graduate from Ouachita in May.
Amanda Glenn, 21, is a Biblical studies major from Little Rock. A graduate of Little Rock Christian Academy, she has served as intramural director of EEE women’s social club. Glenn has also been a member of Ouachita’s women’s soccer team and the Welcome to Ouachita’s World Executive Team. She has been involved in Ouachita’s Campus Ministries and K Groups at Arkadelphia Fellowship Church. Glenn has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day, ElderServe, Camp Wamp, Beach Reach and Campus Ministries’ prison ministry. She has worked at Pine Cove Christian Camps and enjoys backpacking, kayaking and other outdoor activities. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Glenn plans to enter the mission field.
Daniel Graham, 21, is a business management major from Richardson, Texas. He has served as Ouachita’s Campus Ministries President, Backyard Bible Clubs ministry leader and a Freshman Family Group leader. Graham is a member of the Carl Goodson Honors Program, Alpha Chi national college honor society and Beta Gamma Sigma international honor society for business. He is involved in Arkadelphia Fellowship Church and has volunteered with Transerve, Tiger Serve Day, Sunday school programs and youth discipleship programs. Graham has been named to the Dean’s List and the President’s List and has been the recipient of the Botany Club Ray of Light award. He has worked as a resident assistant in Daniel and Anthony Halls, manager of Sav-U-Mor and bank teller at Regions Bank. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Graham plans to pursue his dream to own his own business.
Alan Greenwood, 22, is a mass communications major from Arkadelphia, Ark. A graduate of Arkadelphia High School, he helped found and lead Arkadelphia High School’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Greenwood has served Ouachita’s Student Senate as freshman class president and sophomore class president. He has also been president of Kappa Chi men’s social club, sports editor for the “Ouachitonian” yearbook, sports editor for “The Signal” campus newspaper and “Tripp the Tiger” mascot for Ouachita’s cheerleading squad. Greenwood has worked in Ouachita’s sports information, admissions and computer services offices and has acted as host of TV’s “The Brad Harris Show” and play-by-play announcer for KDEL radio. He has volunteered as a part of Ouachita’s new student retreat, Welcome to Ouachita’s World, Beach reach and Tiger Serve Day. Upon graduation from Ouachita in December, Greenwood plans to pursue a career either in student ministry or sports journalism.
Brittany N. Gubser, 21, is a Christian studies major from Mount Juliet, Tenn. A graduate of Mount Juliet High School, she has been president of Theta Alpha Kappa national honor society for religious studies and theology, co-chair of fundraising for the Ouachita Student Foundation and a member of Alpha Chi national college honor society, the student planning team and the Pruet Sisterhood. She was awarded scholarships to attend two Evangelical Theological Society conferences in San Diego and Providence, R.I. Gubser is a member of Arkadelphia Fellowship Church and has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day and the Women’s Shelter of Arkadelphia. She has served as student leader for Outdoor Discipleship Ministries and has worked in Ouachita’s development office and president’s office and has been a hall director in Frances-Crawford Hall. Upon graduation from Ouachita in December, Gubser plans to pursue a Masters degree in spiritual formation and soul care from Denver Seminary.
Grant Gubser, 21, is a Christian studies major from Denver, Colo. A graduate of Mount Vernon Township High School, he has been a member of Ouachita’s Marching Band and Rough Draft drama team. He has worked with Ouachita’s Outdoor Discipleship Ministry and as youth pastor at Arkadelphia Fellowship Church. Gubser has also worked in Ouachita’s Print Shop and as hall director of Ouachita’s Frances-Crawford Hall. He was awarded a scholarship to attend an Evangelical Theological Society conference in San Diego. Gubser has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day and enjoys camping, hiking, canoeing, cycling and midnight Frisbee golf. Upon graduation from Ouachita in December, he plans to pursue a Masters degree in outdoor men’s ministry from Denver Seminary.
Lucas Hawthorne, 22, is an accounting major from Scottsdale, Ariz. A graduate of Scottsdale Christian Academy, he has served as treasurer for Campus Activities Board, Tiger Tunes leader for Campus Ministries and as a Freshman Family Group leader. Hawthorne has been named to the Dean’s List and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma international honor society for business. He has worked as a business tutor, an intern at Grant Thornton LLP and a tutor at Sylvan Learning Center. He has also worked at Tri-Star Roofing. Hawthorne has volunteered at Osburn Health and Rehabilitation and with Rio Vista Church’s homeless ministry. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, he plans to pursue a career in microfinancing at an accounting firm.
Audra Hinson, 21, is a Spanish and mass communications double-major from Little Rock. A graduate of Sheridan High School, she has been named to the Dean’s List and the President’s List and was a Homecoming Queen Nominee in 2008. She has been the student life editor, assistant editor and editor of the “Ouachitonian” yearbook and is a member of EEE women’s social club, Handbell Ringers and Ouachita’s Photo Lab. Hinson has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day and the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home Promise House. She has been a youth Sunday school teacher and a summer missionary to Peru. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Hinson plans to enter the Journeyman program with the International Mission Board.
Adam Hurst, 21, is a biology major from Jonesboro, Ark. A graduate of Jonesboro High School, he has been named to the President’s List and has been an Academic All-American on the men’s tennis team. Hurst has been social chair, secretary and vice president of Beta Beta men’s social club and treasurer of Ouachita’s American Chemical Society. He has worked as a tennis instructor at Ouachita’s Heflin Tennis Center. Hurst has volunteered with the Big Brother program and has been on the Tiger Serve Day Leadership Team. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Hurst plans to pursue a career as a medical doctor.
Cori Cable Kidder, 21, is a musical theatre major from Wynne, Ark. While at Ouachita, she has been a part of the Ouachita Singers, served as a theatre intern and has been the box office manager for the Jones Performing Arts Center. She has served as president of Theta Alpha Phi national theatre arts fraternity, a leader for Campus Ministries’ Tiger Tunes show and a 2007 Tiger Tunes hostess. A graduate of Wynne High School, she has been named to the Dean’s List and has been an Irene Ryan Acting nominee. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Kidder plans to pursue a career in musical theatre or worship ministry.
Rowan Ledbetter, 22, is a business management and accounting double-major from Little Rock, Ark. A graduate of Pulaski Academy, Ledbetter has been a part of the men’s basketball team, receiving an Academic All-Conference award for excellence in academics and athletics. He has served on the School of Business Advisory Board and has volunteered for Tiger Serve Day. He has worked for basketball camps and lawn care services. Upon graduation from Ouachita in December of 2009, Ledbetter plans to attend graduate school or play basketball internationally.
Brittany Cosh McClain, 22, is a graphic design major from Arkadelphia, Ark. During her time at Ouachita, McClain has been a member of EEE women’s social club and has studied abroad in Salzburg, Austria. She has worked at the Hamburger Barn and the Arkadelphia Aquatic Park. A graduate of Arkadelphia High School, McClain has been named to the Dean’s List. She is a member of Second Baptist Church in Arkadelphia where she has served as a Disciple NOW small group leader. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, McClain intends to pursue a job in graphic design.
Dillon McClain, 21, is a mass communications and Christian studies double-major from Arkadelphia, Ark. He served as president and chaplain of Beta Beta men’s social club and has been a member of Alpha Chi national college honor society, Theta Alpha Kappa national honor society for religious studies and theology and the International Association of Business Communicators. McClain has volunteered for Tiger Serve Day, Riverfest and as a Disciple NOW leader. He has worked for Summit Bank as a loan processor and for Ouachita’s Campus Ministries. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, McClain plans to pursue a career in communications, marketing or public relations.
Sarah Monroe, 21, is an accounting major from White Hall, Ark. She has been a volunteer for America Counts, the Big Sister program and Tiger Serve Day. Monroe has been a member of the Ouachita Student Foundation, Beta Gamma Sigma international honor society for business and has been a Chi Iota Sigma men’s social club little sis. A graduate of Mountain Home High School, she has been named to the President’s List. She has worked in Ouachita’s Speer Writing Center as a writing consultant and at PricewaterhouseCoopers in an internship position. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Monroe plans to work with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Matt Morrison, 21, is a Christian studies major from Plano, Texas. While at Ouachita, he has served as president, vice president and chaplain of Chi Iota Sigma men’s social club, publicity chair of the Tiger Serve Day Leadership Team and Webmaster and speaker for Campus Ministries. He has also been a beau for Tri Chi women’s social club. He has worked as a youth intern at Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco, Texas; a children’s intern for Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas; and interim youth minister for First Baptist Church of Saint Jo, Texas. He has also worked in Ouachita’s Information Technology Services office. A graduate of Plano Senior High School, Morrison has volunteered with Backyard Bible Clubs and other church activities. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Morrison plans to preach in an itinerant setting or serve as pastor of a church.
Chloe O’Connor, 21, is a mass communications major from Louisville, Colo. At Ouachita, she has been a reporter, lifestyles editor and editor-in-chief for The Signal student newspaper. She has also been involved in The Signal Online and the Film Society, has served as a screenplay writer and co-director in a motion picture production class, and has been a Ouachita panelist on the Arkansas Educational Television Network’s College Forum. A graduate of Monarch High School, O’Connor has received a Kluck Student Enrichment Grant for The Signal and for her motion picture production project, as well a gold medal rating for the 2007-2008 Signal from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. She has volunteered for Tiger Serve Day and in church service projects for her home church. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, she plans to pursue a career in the print, design or film industries.
Andrew Pyle, 22, is a Russian language and speech communications double-major from Mountain Home, Ark. A graduate of Mountain Home High School, he has been named to the President’s List and the Dean’s List and has been named a Distinguished Russian Language Student. Pyle has served as president of the Ouachita Student Foundation; chaplain, sergeant-at-arms and vice president of Chi Iota Sigma men’s social club; and director of the Rough Draft drama team. He has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day and the Mountain Home Marathon for Kenya. Pyle has worked as a chief gas dock facilitator, a youth intern and a camp counselor and has been involved in the college ministry at First Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Pyle plans to pursue a career as a college professor.
Braeden Rogers, 21, is a mass communication major from Garland, Texas. A graduate of Naaman Forest High School, he has been a member of the Rough Draft drama team, Tiger Blast, Marching Band and Saxophone Ensemble while at Ouachita. Rogers has volunteered for Tiger Serve Day and has attended Fellowship Church of Arkadelphia. He has received honors in the 2007 Concerto Competition and has been a beau for Tri Chi women’s social club. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Rogers plans to pursue a career as a professional photographer.
Brittney Selvidge, 21, is a mass communications and speech communications double-major from Hot Springs, Ark. A graduate of Lake Hamilton High School, she has been a recipient of the Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship, the Trustees Scholarship, the Mrs. J.R. Grant Award and the E.L. Keith Scholarship and has been named to the Dean’s List. Selvidge has been a church soloist and Disciple NOW leader and has volunteered with Lighthouse ministries and the Courage House. She has worked as a counselor and financial director for Centri-Kid camps and as the advertising manager for the Ouachitonian yearbook. Selvidge has served as corresponding secretary and Tiger Tunes director of Tri Chi women’s social club and has been a Tiger Tunes hostess and a member of the Ouachita Students Foundation Steering Committee. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Selvidge plans to attend graduate school for advertising or public relations.
Christopher Straw, 22, is a musical theatre major from Little Rock, Ark. He has served as vice president of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia national fraternity for men in music and has been a member of the Campus Activities Board and Theta Alpha Phi national theatre honors fraternity. He has attended Agape Church in Little Rock and has volunteered more than 200 hours at the American Red Cross. A graduate of Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School, Straw has been a 2007 Tiger Tunes host, the winner of the Mary Shambarger Competition for singers and has been a National Association of Teachers of Singing regional finalist. He has worked part time at Toys “R” Us. Upon graduation from Ouachita in December of 2009, Straw plans to pursue a career in performing, artistic directing or teaching.
Nicole Stuart, 21, is a mass communications major from Prescott, Ark. She has served as co-president of the Ouachita Student Foundation, vice president of Reaching Out to Multicultural Students and treasurer of Ouachita’s International Association of Business Communicators. Stuart has been a member of EEE women’s social club and the Homecoming planning committee. She has worked part-time as a Maurice’s sales associate and at Ouachita as a tutor and mentor for TRIO programs, a resident assistant in O.C. Bailey dorm and an aide in the president’s and vice president’s offices. A graduate of Prescott High School, she has been named to the Academic Enrichment Center’s hall of fame and the Dean’s List and has been a Homecoming Queen nominee. Stuart has volunteered with the Big Sister program and Tiger Serve Day and is involved in Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church’s college ministry. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in student affairs administration.
Sara Ann Terlecki, 21, is a psychology major from Hot Springs, Ark. A graduate of Lakeside High School, she has been named to the President’s List and the Dean’s List and has received the Psychology Faculty Award. Terlecki has served as treasurer and president of Psi Chi national honor society for psychology and has been a member of the Psychology Club, the Carl Goodson Honors Program and the Ouachita Student Foundation. She has volunteered for America Reads, the Big Sister program, the Jingle Bell Run and Tiger Serve Day. She has worked at Sunglass Hut. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in psychology.
Alan Thomas, 20, is a music major with a percussion emphasis from Redfield, Ark. A graduate of Sheridan High School, he has served as the creative leader for student ministry and a student ministry intern for the Church at Rock Creek in Little Rock. Thomas has volunteered for various church events and has participated in several mission trips. Upon graduating from Ouachita, he plans to enter the music field where he is considering being a studio artist.
Hayden Tucker, 21, is a Biblical studies and mass communications double-major from Arkadelphia, Ark. She has served as historian of EEE women’s social club and chairman and vice chairman of College Republicans. Tucker is a member of Theta Alpha Kappa national honor society for religious studies and theology, Alpha Chi national college honor society and International Association of Business Communicators. She has volunteered for Tiger Serve Day, ElderServe and Operation Christmas Child. A graduate of Arkadelphia High School, she has been a Governor’s Distinguished Scholar, named to the President’s List and received a Trustees Scholarship. Tucker has worked for Summit Insurance Group, Stars Gymnastics, Taylor King and Associates and has been an intern at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, she plans to pursue a career in public relations.
Landon White, 21, is a church music major from Benton, Ark. He has been a member of the Welcome to Ouachita’s World Leadership Team, Ouachita’s Student Senate, Ouachita Singers, Ouachita Jazz Band and the Refuge Band. White has studied abroad in Salzburg, Austria. A graduate of Benton High School, White has been named to the Dean’s List and has received a Trustees Scholarship. He has volunteered for Tiger Serve Day and has worked as the music ministry assistant at First Baptist Church of Benton. Upon graduation from Ouachita in December of 2009, White plans to pursue a career as a worship pastor or minister of music.
Allison Winn, 21, is a Christian studies major from Bryant, Ark. A graduate of Fayetteville High School, she has been recognized by Campus Ministries for servant leadership. Winn has served as a Campus Ministries leader for missions promotions and chaplain of EEE women’s social club and has been a member of Theta Alpha Kappa national honor society for religious studies and theology. She has been a small group leader, a youth group leader, a member of the choir and a Bible study member at her home church. Winn has volunteered with a disaster relief trip to Louisiana, Tiger Serve Day, Race for the Cure, Relay for Life and Habitat for Humanity and has been part of a mission team to Australia. She has worked Corky’s BBQ, Vanity Clothing and as a youth intern at First Baptist Church of Bentonville. Winn plans to graduate from Ouachita in May.
Becca Woodall, 21, is a Biblical studies and theology double-major from Bryant, Ark. While at Ouachita, she has been a member of EEE women’s social club, Campus Ministries Tiger Tunes program, Handbell Ringers, Alpha Chi national honor society and Theta Alpha Kappa national honor society for religious studies and theology. She has served as Ouachita Student Senate president and as a Freshman Family Group leader. A graduate of Bryant High School, Woodall has been named to the President’s List and has received multiple scholarships. She has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day and has been active in her church’s children’s ministry and missions efforts. She has worked as a children’s minister at Fellowship Church of Arkadelphia and in Ouachita’s Christian Studies office. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Woodall plans to either pursue a career in missions or attend seminary.
Lindsey Wright-Forga, 21, is a mass communication and musical theatre double-major from Glenwood, Ark. A graduate of Centerpoint High School, she has been both a junior and senior class Homecoming Queen nominee and has been named to the Dean’s List while at Ouachita. She has been a member of Ouachita Sounds, Theta Alpha Phi national theatre honors fraternity and Alpha Chi national college honor society. Wright-Forga has served as EEE women’s social club song leader, freshman class senator, sophomore class secretary and junior class president. She has volunteered with the Ouachita Student Senate’s Food Fight, Race for the Cure, Tiger Serve Day, Toys for Tots and Operation Christmas Child. At her church, Forga has been a Vacation Bible School volunteer, a member of the church choir and a Girls in Action leader. She has worked for Wright’s Food Center and as a Girls in Action camp counselor. Upon graduation from Ouachita in the fall of 2009, she plans to pursue a career in musical theatre.
Amy York, 21, is a musical theatre major from Dallas, Texas. She has been a member of Alpha Chi national honor society, Rough Draft drama team, Concert Choir and Women’s Chorus. She has served as vice president of Ouachita’s Theta Alpha Phi national theatre honors fraternity. A graduate of Lake Highland High School, York has received a Rotary Scholarship and an award from the American College Theatre Festival for excellence in directing. She has attended the William Inge Theatre Festival for directing and has been a student faculty council representative and an Irene Ryan Partner. She has volunteered with Tiger Serve Day as well as Shoes for Orphan Souls, serving as captain. York has been the drama director at her church as well as a Sunday school teacher for the toddler class. She has worked at Ouachita as a teaching assistant and secretary. Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, York hopes to move to Russia where she plans to start a theatre program for an orphanage.
