Campus Activities Board to present Throwbacks and Flapjacks event

November 28, 2016

On Saturday morning, Ouachita’s Campus Activities Board will be throwing it back at Dr. Jack’s. Not only will they take it back to Saturday mornings as a kid, but they will also be serving a breakfast classic: pancakes. Stacey Perry, the CAB Advisor, and the student members of CAB have worked very hard to make this year’s “Throwbacks and Flapjacks” a success, as it has been in the past.

The shows that are set to play at this year’s event have not yet been confirmed but could include “Scooby Doo,” “Boy Meets World,” “Full House,” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”

Before sitting down and getting comfortable to watch the shows with friends, those attending should grab a pancake from one of the many griddle stations that will be set up. Not only will there be pancakes, but there will also be many toppings to choose from. Additionally, there will be a griddle set up that will stand as a gluten-free option for those attending who may require it. Since it is a Saturday morning and everyone wants to lounge around and be comfortable, pajamas are encouraged.

Along with the many students who will be attending, the invitation is extended to Ouachita’s President, Dr. Ben Sells, who refers to himself as a “pancake enthusiast” in his Twitter bio.

This event will be held at Dr. Jack’s on November 19, from 9-11 a.m.

Montray Wyatt, the president of CAB, encourages everyone to attend.

“Our motivation behind Throwbacks and Flapjacks is simple. We want our peers to remember the Saturdays of their childhood when they would wake up and watch their favorite shows on television. We are really excited to walk down such a wonderful memory lane this Saturday! The pancakes will be great, the shows will be great, and the company will be the best,” Wyatt said.
