“On the day of auditions, I had to teach that day as well so I had to come in really early and do my pop quiz song before everybody else. So it was just Jon and Joey and they just sat there in the mezzanine. I stood right beside them and sang my little pop quiz song. They just stared at me and I said, ‘Well that was awkward.’ And they said, ‘Yeah.’ I said, ‘Thanks for being awkward with me.’ And they were like, ‘Okay.’ Then I left.”
